Hit the Hill
Hit the Hill was a mental health and suicide prevention event where people would register and walk up and down castle hill for 24 hours.
The money raised would go on to the chosen not-for-profit; picked by the radio station 103.1.
My business turned not-for-profit was the last business chosen following LIVIN, headspace, MATES4MATES and The Bishop Michael Putney Fellowship.

Kindness Walk
I organised an annual walk along The Strand in Townsville, which successfully ran for three consecutive years and attracted over 1,500 participants. What many people don’t realise is the immense effort and planning required behind the scenes to ensure such events run smoothly. From coordinating with local police, council, and other organisations, to overseeing the marketing strategy, every detail had to be carefully managed to create an event that was not only memorable but also respectful. During these events, my responsibilities included conducting risk assessments, managing a team of workers, hosting as the MC, tracking merchandise inventory, ensuring all necessary documentation was up-to-date, and, of course, taking the time to enjoy the event itself.
Gloves on 4 Mental Health
Through my involvement with the community, I was fortunate to build numerous meaningful connections. One memorable encounter was with a gentleman who proposed organising a charity boxing match. Leveraging his extensive network in the boxing world, he planned to create an event aimed at raising funds for my business turned NFP. It was an exciting opportunity to be part of something impactful. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen family circumstances and being unable to leave Victoria during the COVID lock downs, I couldn’t attend the event.
Nonetheless, I believe this experience highlights my ability to foster strong community connections and maintain a positive reputation.
